The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides primary, specialty and subspecialty care for women of all ages. Same day appointments are generally available. A women's resource and education center, focused on women's health issues, is available within the department.

The physicians and nurse practitioners evaluate, manage and treat:

  • Uncomplicated and high risk pregnancies
  • Disorders of the breasts, genitalia and internal pelvis structures (such as prolapse or incontinence)
  • Gynecologic cancers
  • Peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms and issues
  • Abnormal bleeding and irregular periods
  • Infertility evaluation and treatment, including:
    • Donor insemination
    • Gonadotropin therapy
    • Intrauterine insemination
    • Laparoscopy
    • Microsurgical reversal of tubal ligations

Office based procedures and services include:

  • Colposcopy
  • Contraceptive assesment and treatment: oral, subdermal, injectable, intrauterine and vaginal
  • Cryotherapy
  • Endometrial biopsies
  • Essure Permanent Birth Control
  • Hysteroscopy - diagnostic and therapeutic (sterilization, ablation)
  • Nexplanon Contraception
  • LEEP
  • Ultrasound

Hospital/Outpatient based procedures include:

  • Amniocentesis
  • Cerclage
  • Cesarean section
  • Essure Permanent Birth Control
  • Hysterectomy - abdominal, vaginal, laparoscopically assisted vaginal, laparoscopic supracervical
  • Myomectomy
  • Laparoscopy - diagnostic, operative
  • Sterilization - laparoscopic and hysteroscopic
  • Surgical treatment for urinary incontinence
