01/29/18 - ACMC Psychologist, Dr. Kristi Phillips, Named to American Psychological Association Committee on Rural Health

Kristi Phillips, PsyD, LP, a Psychologist with ACMC Health in Willmar and Litchfield, was recently nominated and then elected to the Committee on Rural Health within the American Psychological Association (APA).

The Committee on Rural Health is a national committee within APA whose mission is to achieve optimal health and well-being for rural and remote populations. Its efforts center on ensuring equal protection and respect of residents of rural and remote regions, integrating rural perspectives into APA policy, and removing barriers to comprehensive health care for rural and remote populations.

"I am really excited that I get to serve in this capacity to help keep the unique needs of rural communities a priority," said Dr. Phillips. She is one of eight members on the committee and will serve a three-year term.

Members of the APA Committee on Rural Health work in conjunction with the affiliated state, provincial, and territorial psychological associations, federal and state agencies, national organizations with an interest in rural populations, and the U.S. Congress and State Legislatures to advance the cause of improved behavioral health care for rural communities.
